Providing free clothing, toiletries, haircuts, necessities, & snacks to teen boys in foster care ages 12–17, at-risk youth, and young adults who have aged out of foster care and have no family of their own.

2 Corinthians 5:17

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has past, behold the new has come.”

ABOUT

Garage 517 was started by founder Joshua Gaulden, a former auto mechanic who spent many hours under the hood and in the garage fixing his family’s drag cars. Later he felt called by God to aid and minister to the underprivileged teen boys in the community, with the heart of 2 Corinthians 5:17. It is a testament to how valued each and every one of God’s creations is. No matter our past, or upbringing, we can all start fresh.

In 2024, Garage 5:17 mission was passed onto Ginger Rockey-Johnson and John Sheid, a husband & wife team who are fierce and relentless advocates of teens.

Through donations and volunteers, we are able to provide necessities such as clothing, toiletries, haircuts, snacks, and the love of God to boys in foster care ages 12-17 in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, & Polk Counties.

In 2024, the mission was expanded to the at-risk community boys, homeless teens.

Everything is completely FREE! Many of these youth are displaced to group homes or foster families or are homeless with little to no belongings. Through our incredibly generous donors, we are able to share the love! If you are interested in being a part of our volunteer family, click here!
